"what if...?" Henning Larsen Architects
Architecture affects the environment in the city or countryside and the communities in which it is placed in. And the surroundings, the city landscape and society influence the architecture. Henning Larsen Architects has projects throughout the world and manages to create architecture that engages in dialogue with the surroundings and interprets the site possibilities from a future perspective.
"what if...?" is a look into an architecture workshop. It is a living exhibition that gives insight into the impact of context on the architecture. The visitor's conception of their own city is challenged, and its potential unfold.
At Henning Larsen Architects considered context as more than the piece of land or town that surrounds the project. It is also the society, the history, culture and ideas about the future, related to the site. When the context is the starting point, the projects are different. A concert hall in Reykjavik has a completely different look than a hospital in the Fynske (Funen) landscape.

"what if...?" focuses on what it means to enroll in a specific urban context. The exhibition displayed a number of recent projects selected by adaptation or relevant to the amendment of an existing area. The exhibition provides insight into the studio's creative process, where empathy, openness and curiosity is a key part of working practice. It gives a picture of what it means to work with architecture and the means obtained an understanding of why projects seem like they do.
The exhibition will be set up a studio environment where architecture students from Aalborg University will work. The exhibition will serve as a testing ground where the audience can follow the students' studies.

"what if...?" is not a traditional exhibition. The exhibition is constantly under development and invites visitors to explore and ask questions.
