Victoria Ladefoged b. 1976, Danish designer

Victoria Ladefoged holds a B.A. in fashion from the Kolding School of Design from 1999 and an M.A. in women's fashion from the Royal College of Art in London from 2001. Furthermore, she is trained as a men's tailor. In recent years, Victoria has begun to work with recycled wood and textile in her firm re:something: "When I design and develop new wooden objects, I often take a playful 'building blocks' approach. I like to saw blocks into different shapes and discover new figures through play. I prefer a simple, slightly rustic expression with a love of details." Victoria uses her experience as a designer and a tailor when she works with wood.

From her work as a designer she has the love of details, and from her work as a men's tailor the knowledge of materials and the outstanding craftsmanship. All Victoria's products are made from recycled materials and handmade in Denmark. The designs are rooted in the Danish craft tradition with an added touch of playfulness. The goal is to make high-quality products in a sustainable manner. Victoria's trademark is strong Danish design made in Denmark by hand and skill. The design is simple and sleek and carries implicit aspects of humour and play. Sustainability is a serious matter but should not always be conveyed as such. If we turn sustainable design into a matter of guilt and duty the concept will wear off.

Klaus Samsøe shows examples of designs and unique work - all produced from recycled products from amongst other things Aarstiderne, Munck Asfalt, De Forenede Dampvaskerier and Restaurant Noma.

Klaus Samsøe, has roots in the clothing business, has worked with recycling since 1987, where he exhibited jewelery at Charlottenborg. Klaus has since exhibited recycled products at Nikolaj Kunsthal, Øksnehallen, Kunstforeningen, Kunstindustrimuseet and Politikens Galleri.

The exhibition shows chairs, bookshelved and tables made by recycled material, sailingships of the same material, knitted sweaters produced by recycled wool from the furniture industri, and elfs in wood.
